On the Aqua Signal site it shows the bicolor LED series 31 #31100 for vessels up < 39 ft, 1NM, 1 WATT and series 32 #32100 for vessels <65 ft, 3 WATTS, 2NM http://www.aquasignal.info/aquasignal_us/files/content/series_led.pdf?id=178 31 is okay for us. I am seeking parts for my ongoing renovation project and spotted a big sale: Defender has Aqua Signal Series 31 LED Bicolor lights as a "special buy" in the Clearance dept. Click on "Clearance" and scroll down and you will see them for $35, which seems like a great deal. I think these have been replaced with Series 32 -- the difference I note is Series 31 is rated for 1 nm visibility and Series 32 is 2 nm (also 1W vs. 3W). Maybe they aren't bright enough...?
I am thinking about upgrading to LED lights when I work through the electrical system, and this seems like it would be a good choice for a bow light. Or maybe not -- anyone try these?
