I was wondering about how much backstay tension is to much? We sailed the other day and I could not get the leach to open. (Granted I did not check the leach cord...forgot ) So I adjusted the backstay about 5 inches with what I thought was a lot of tension but did not find that sweet spot. I am coming from a Pearson Ensign that had a boom vang but no backstay adjustment so this is a learning curve for me. I thought that the backstay should flatten the sail an open the leach when tightened, but I don't know how much movement there should be in the backstay adjustment blocks. A few inches or several inches? All so, does anyone have any info on how to install Genoa tracks on the M-17 or know someone to contact? Thanks for any help!! Briant M-17 405
