Tom, About 3 or 4 years ago Jerry M. made a full set of standing rigging for my M-17 when I changed to a tall rig - all wire is 1/8" - I asked if we should make the forestay 5/32 and the answer was that the 1/8" is the correct size and 5/32 would just weigh more. Check the working strength of the two sizes and you may be surprised. BTW - as nice a wire work as I have seen in years - I am VERY happy with the work - he made upper terminals t-ball type as I requested- lengths were spot on. GO
