Fortunately, I don't think Busca suffers from the problem at all, but the topic of repairing wet core came up on another list I'm on and someone suggested drying out the core with the aid of a vacuum pump: drilling a small hole in the deck and attaching a vacuum pump to it since the low pressure would cause the moisture to evaporate more quickly than normally. I don't think the deck would be damaged w/ 14 odd psi of vacuum unless the core were mush anyway but I suppose it ought to be carefully monitored all the same... I don't know how well that would work for anything more than a small area around the hole... After drying, then defects could be filled with epoxy as normal... Any comments? Tod (planning tentatively on a 2 wk trip to the North Channel next spring and hopefully another 2 wks to Maine again at the end of the summer)
