I also have a 2hp Seagull. I bought the gear oil from Ron Battison and found him to be very cooperative regarding questions etc. His email 2 years ago was ronbattison@telus.net> I haven't used the motor since 2 years ago and keep it in the garage. I start it up a couple times a year to keep the mosquitos under control. If I was able to make the CBC, I would definately have depended on it (as well as a trolling motor for short manuevers.) Last year the boat stayed at the lake and I'm proud to say I sailed out and back into the slip every time. I only hit the boat next door once. I have a copy of the original owners manual and a parts spare book if anyone is interested. Zounds...another Seagull owner here?? Will wonders ever cease?? Most important is get the serial number for me..all the letters and numbers. And 25-1 is _the mix_ for the EFNRx-90 motors. Also 80-90 wt gear oil for the tranny gearbox. Yes, they've not been made for abour 8-10 years now, but parts are relatively easy to get, albeit by mail. Ron Battiston, in Vancouver, B.C. Canada sold me both of my small 'Gulls. He's bought the Seagull Shop in that city from the original distributor a few years ago and sells a few 'Gulls as well...all used models. There's also a Seagull restorer in Maine or close by..Frank Valentino, IIRC. Battiston refers to him on his website.. do a web search for Ron Battiston or British Seagull and you'll find his website. I also found another website with parts list...but no parts breakdown at www.britishseagulls.com/parts.html. He's fairly new, so I just d/loaded his parts/price list. Guess I'll visit him again. Finally, there's what's left of the original (?) in England at www.britishseagull.co.uk Also a very interesting one by another Brit who restores them at www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk I'd suggest that you get a parts manual, service manual and possibly an owners manual from them, as the others charge at least twice what they do...probably pay same price as you will, plus postage, plus duty (Canada), and a markup. Be glad to help in any way that I can. Harvey/ Ga M-17 Stargazer #294 _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
