I believe that the boat I saw yesterday is one of two under construction, neither of them finished, so there's probably nothing to take "publicity" pictures of yet. I'm going to keep trying the Sage Marine website, which isn't up yet. Rick M17 #633 Lynne L On Fri, Oct 8, 2010 at 11:19 PM, Steve and Diana Parsons <sparsons@canby.com

As Gail Glesser told me this afternoon, the Sage 17 is "a Montgomery 17 on
steroids". At first glance it IS a Montgomery 17, but climb aboard and you can see the differences quickly. Centerboard winch to raise the newly ballasted board, no jib winches on the cockpit coaming - all on the cabintop to allow the new tight sheeting angle, light carbon fiber you can feel as you raise the locker covers in the cockpit, resulting in 2 - 3 hundred pounds overall weight reduction. Open plan below, no compression post, no quarter berths, plenty of room, although slightly shorter and narrower than the M17. Too bad that the full rig wasn't up so we could see the new 7/8ths setup. Best of luck to Sal and Gail. Looks like a winner!

Hi all,
Stopped by the Annapolis sailboat show today to check out the new Sage 17, I think you all are really going to like her. The cabin is a bit different then the M17, no compression post and longer berths for sleeping and better sitting room as well. Spent some time with Sal and Gail and enjoyed speaking with them. First class folks who will put out a terrific sailboat. Congrats to them and Jerry as well, nice job guys
