As far as I can tell, it is. It has exactly the same markings as the West Marine one. I'll have to look at it again, but IIRC it says it is on the label. I, too, thought it was pretty odd that it was so cheap. So, this is the one<http://www.windline.com/index.php?act=viewmodels&prod=37>that I returned to West Marine, and this one<http://www.iboats.com/Garelick_Out_Of_Sight/dm/cart_id.055455613--session_id.407423798--view_id.38727>looks exactly like the one I got -I swear it says windline on it, though. I made new stainless brackets for it, so we'll see how much modding I'll need to get them to work properly. Yay metalwork! On Wed, Nov 25, 2009 at 12:41 PM, W David Scobie <wdscobie@yahoo.com> wrote:
is this ladder a marine type? non-marine in a saltwater or freshwater environment will quickly degrade.

I got the 3 step telescoping windline ladder from West Marine that was listed at $150, but then found a 2 step telescoping windline ladder at Macs Hardware for $25. The bracket construction on that one is not quite as good, but for $125 savings... I took the 3 step back. I figure all you really need to be able to do is belly up onto the stern, but then I may be more agile than some...
That'll be my first installation next spring when it warms up!
