Yes, it was very hard to let Ceto go - we very much enjoyed sailing her! It became painfully obvious after a year and a half though, that I did not have the time or skills to do the moderate rehabbing and even routine maintenance that she required. With my own business, a search and rescue dog to train, three young kids to keep up with - well, we all know how real life is! - I had to let something go. When an opportunity came up to sell her, but keep her in-family, (so we can still sail her when we visit every summer), I reluctantly let her go. I changed my mind several times, driving everyone crazy, but we're all happy with the decision. Within one week of having her, my stepdad has already stripped and refinished the handrails, the tiller and the above-waterline part of the rudder. He's plowing through the projects with the confidence and focus I never could muster. They're planning to take her out to Farragut state park, I think, for her first launch there. I'm hoping they'll be here, learning and sharing soon! I'll keep an eye out for them. Always good to have another M17 around, but I'm surprised to hear you let her go. Hi,
I've sold my M17 #378 to my mom and stepdad, who have "Ceto" nearby in Spirit Lake, ID. They're planning to sail in all the nearby lakes, so maybe you'll run into them!
I'll bet they'd love to see some other Montys too.

John, a couple days sooner and we would have seen you there. I just pulled CornDog out for the season on Sunday. She's waiting for new go-fast bottom paint now. Across the bay at the Bitter End Marina you can see two more M17's and M23 Raven. She's a beauty!

While on our summer RV trip, and walking through a marina in the panhandle of Idaho yesterday, with bottle of beer in hand, I ran across Corndog sitting regally on trailer. Looking good and making
me wish I still had my old FD Coyote. Pend Oreille was quiet but beautiful to behold. Good sailing to all -
John from Tucson
