I know that the M15 and M17 were originally produced using iron punchings as ballast. Documentation from Jerry Montgomery on MSOG indicates that the ballast was changed to lead in 1987 for the M17. Was the ballast changed to lead at the same time for the M15? If not, was it ever changed to lead?
Thanks for any information

Jobst Looking for an M15 of my own
Jobst, I can't verify exactly when the M15 went from iron to lead, but I can confirm that my 1991 M-15 is all lead ballast. I too have heard 1987, but I would want some confirmation before buying. I would look for one with lead, if possible. BTW, are you the Jobst that previously owned the Flicka 'Solar Wind'? Scott 1991 M15 #478 'bebe' 1990 PSC Flicka
