With the Porta Poti removed and a couple of throwable floating cushions there is no more comfortable a seat than the one in an M15. There are arm rests and plenty of leg room. I went as far as taking one of the cushions apart, cutting the foam and re-sewing it to fit in the footprint made for the pp. Well my wife did the sewing and the idea of making a seat there was first shown to me by Connie Benneck when he so graciously convince me what a great boat the M15 was. I usually read a bit before going to sleep when cruising and I regularly fall asleep in that seat when doing so. It's not a lot of fun waking up an hour or so later and having to make my bed while cold and half asleep. So throw your porta poti away and build yourself a real throne. Rick

Anyone know the dimensions from the portable head locker cabin sole to interior roof for the M15? Wondering if a West Marine "Go Anywhere Seat" could be used in the head locker sans porta-potti and v-berth center cushion similar to the arrangement used in Edey & Duff's Stonehorse Cutter
The "Go Anywhere Seat" also works well in the cockpit. I have used them in my previous sailboats. In fact, coupled with a folding chair as a cushion, they can be very comfortable.
I'm still trying to decide on M15 or M17, new vs. used. I like the interior and cockpit size of the M17, and I remember that some of my most memorable sailing was been in small boats, particularly my CD Typhoon and the family canoe I learned to sail in a few (actually 50 +/-) years ago. I enjoy thin-water sailing and feel like I might actually use the M15 more. Plan on doing a lot of singlehanded sailing, most day, but also hope to trailer sail around the US.
Appreciate any info you can share.
Thanks, Mark
