I just did mine this spring. I cut the old one out and brought it with for a sample, I think it was 1 1/2". Not an easy job for a fat guy like me. I put two hose clamps on both ends and I don't think it would have leeeked with out any it was very tight. I vagly remember using my wifes heet gun to soften it up a little.
