If you sat all the way forward in the cockpit, as I liked to do, then the Forespar tiller extension made about a 120 degree angle with the tiller, rather than a 90 degree angle. My solution was to build a new, longer tiller. Then the Forespar extension was at 90 degrees to the end of the tiller, when I sat at the forward end of the cockpit, giving you excellent control if a gust should hit you unexpectedly. If I were to do it again, my thought now would be to make a female tiller end that would fit snugly over the existing tiller to increase the length, without making a longer tiller. That way, you would have the normal length tiller; or the longer tiller for solo sailing, your choice. With either of these configurations you could use the Forespar tiller extension. After reading recent posts that the M15 sails better with weight forward got me thing about tiller extensions again.
What are other M15 sailer's using and how is it working out.
Forespar has a 24 inch extension for a reasonable price. Has anyone used that one?
