Norm You could also tape the bottom of the hole, then fill the entire space with some mat fibers and epoxy to the top. After it cures, then re-drill the hole with a 3/8 drill bit. I did not change the opening to the hole. The cracks and voids were on the inside. I ended up using Bondo rather than 5 minute epoxy. I knew that I would have to file with a rasp to the correct internal size. Epoxy would have been like working in concrete.
