I'd agree with Don on this one. In the past, we have kicked around ideas for replacing the older cast iron boards on the M17's. Everything from stainless to casting them in bronze. Those options were looking like $1,000 plus per board. Cheapest option was probably a steel board and having it hot dipped galvanized. Guys: The M-15 doesn't have a centerboard winch or a place to mount one. 1/4" SS plate weighs 10 lbs per sq ft and 1/2" weighs 20 lbs/ sq ft. Think about how you would lift and HOLD the board up. There also isn't a stop pin on and M15 althought you could probably modify the trunck and board to make one like the M17 board. I'm just as happy with the fiberglass board.
