I'm not a fan of sheet cleating on the boom: called head knockers for a reason and if you loose the end of the sheet the line ends up being out in the water to leeward and unreachable. I also dislike having the main sheet behind me as it means you are discouraged from keeping it in your hand and this is unsafe. Reaching behind your body to uncleat is also awkward. A block hanging loose is also a challenge as can be difficult to uncleat - safety hazard. Much prefer the sheeting arrangement as Jerry designed. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site!
