HI Gang, I've been on this lake on a 50' rented houseboat with a bunch of my fishing buddies years ago. The channels and passages around islands have day markers and are easy to follow with a chart. But, once you get into the big water, it's really easy to lose bearings. This was in pre-GPS days. We had 3 compasses on the houseboat and they all read differently! At one point, we had to swallow our pride and ask some muskie fisherman where we were. Damn tourists. Another fine candidate in northern Minnesota which isn't quite as huge is Lake Vermillion. Another stunning beauty, not as far north, and not as remote. I'll do either. Bones
