Problem solved. I did an unconventional modification. I had a high quality t. buckle and I removed the eye with threads on one end only. I then turned the other threads fully to the shortest setting and then fed a shackle thru the empty t.b. body to the bow plate. That took out about half of the over-rake. I have yet to get out on the water to test the new mast position but will test it this week. I was reluctant to spend more $ as I got new shrouds from Mel Morrison Marine here in Sacramento for $50.00. ---Fair Winds. ---Larry H. -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Bob

Hi Larry We've switched (upgraded) the headstay on the M_15s to a turnbuckle and not a stay adjuster. You can solve your problem by ordering a new headstay with turnbuckle from: Furling and Rigging 1571 Placentia Ave. Newport Beach, CA 92663 Tel: (949) 631-2163 Talk to Mike. The advantage with the turnbuckle is you can remove all the slop in the rig. We still use stay-adjusters on the side stays. The turnbuckle is on the headstay only. Cost is about $60 bucks. I would measure the headstay you have and add those 3 inches (?) you need. Mention that number to Mike and he will make it fit perfectly. If you're running a CDI furler you might have might go up one size from 1/8 inch to 5/32 on the new headstay. But it works either way. Bob Eeg (949) 489-8227 www.montgomeryboats.com

Bob. I had the shrouds shortened in order to rake the mast 8 to 10 inches. Now the bow line adjuster is too short. Do I go with a longer pinned adjuster or is there a short t-buckle I can use? The adjuster on now is a shorty, about 5 inches. The adjuster is about 3 inches too
short.
----Thanks Bob.
