Hi Justin: We're just back home in Mt. Shasta, CA, from Ontario on the 22nd, having picked up M-15 Sirius #631 the day before. (The trek to LA was quite an adventure in the 100+ temperatures). We downsized from a Kent Ranger 20 we had for 20 years, and kept our Danforth-type 10 lb, chain, and rode to use on this boat; probably going to look for a second anchor, also. When we got to our motel on Wednesday, called Bob and went out to the factory for a brief look, then back Thursday morning for about a 2 hour lesson in the details of sails, stowing mast, etc, etc. I took a bunch of pictures to help memory. Stowed gear yesterday and expect to get her wet in a few days. Have a safe trip to CA! Mike & Paula Lester
Hi all,
My wife and I will soon be going to California to meet Bob Eeg and take delivery of our new M-15. We are very excited.
I have done some searching in the archives on my topic and have found good info. I am going to purchase an anchor, but still seem unsure as to what will best support my, not yet discovered needs.
For a primary anchor I was thinking a 4.4lb. Bruce-type. I am expecting to encounter a variety of bottoms in my adventures. Is there a "do it all" anchor out there you can tell me about? I realize more than one anchor is a best bet, but, my focus for starters is the primary anchor. I will be happy to hear what would be a second anchor recommendation as well. Any and all opinions will greatly be appreciated.
Best, Justin Lyons M15 #633?
