My scupper (lanyard hole) is covered by a piece of varnished teak which must be bonded somehow to the cockpit sole. The hole therein is not much larger than the lanyard. Has this piece of teak been added by a PO perhaps (not OEM)? And, is the hole beneath it significantly larger to fit the stainless "strainers" ? Jeff, I am referring to the M-15 only. The scupper under the CB lanyard is double sided. Take two stainless steel scrubbing pads and gently insert one left and right. Don't push them too far. They will filter out all that small debris that could scratch, jamb your CB. Rinse out after each day of sailing. They work pretty well for pot scrubbing too!

Larry,
Do you mean to stuff a bit of the scrubbing pad into the lanyard hole as a filter? Doesn't seem to be lost of room to spare there with the line down through the hole.

Hi Larry,
What a great idea.

Consider using stainless steel kitchen scrubbing pads. No rust and they filter small bits of debris that could eventually scratch and jamb the CB.

Jeff...the cockpit on the 15 drains just fine thru the centerboard rope hole.

Upon closer eye-balling of my "new" (1981 #176) Monty 15, I find no cockpit scuppers. I cannot believe that this could be a design flaw (not typical of Jerry), but am a bit concerned about blue water soaking my feet (or worse).
Ought I worry about this and retro-fit scuppers in the cockpit?
If so, have others done this job and is there any type of "how-to" guide out there in Monty Land?
Many thanks in advance.......
