When I purchased Seafrog I asked Bob Eeg if I could have one with the galley. He told me that he wasn't making them like that and advised me that I would be happier in the long run with the 3 1/2 berth layout. And how right he was. Even with a galley it seems like it would be a little less than comfortable trying to prepare meals on my knees or sitting sideways. If I cook anything, I can use my backpacking stove either on the V berth or if the weatther is nice, I can stand in the cabin and cook in the cockpit. Anyway, just my opinion. I'm of the opinion that the third time was a charm: the 3 1/2 berth model offers the extra seat in the cabin but also the one deep cockpit locker.

I'm new to this list, having only recently discovered this great boat. I'm in the market for one now, and I'd drive some distance to get a good one.
I'm most interested in the four-berth model, though my wife is adamant about having a galley. I'm determined to somehow adapt the four-berth model to suit her. The earlier model that had a galley built in doesn't allow face-to-face seating, another not-unreasonable requirement.
We are planning a May trip at least into the San Juans, if not farther north. I'd like to circumnavigate Vancouver Island late next season.
I've been sailing for two years and most recently helped deliver a 1964 Cal 40 from Oahu to Astoria, Ore. after the Pacific Cup Race.
