US Mountain Standard Time, leyake@juno.com writes: The fifth "almost-annual" northwest cruise will begin this coming weekend. Boats will be arriving from all over the western US, and as far away as Arizona, Texas, and Utah, to spend two weeks sailing together in the San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands. This trip has been in the planning stages since last fall, and at one time we had as many as 30 boats hoping to participate, before the roster settled in on a final count of seventeen. There will be 5 M23's, 9 M17's, 2 M15's, and one former M23 owner in a NonSuch 26. The opening weekend is always a great time for visitors to drop in and see the fleet. It's a rare opportunity to see this many Montgomery's at once. Feel free to drop by either Friday or Saturday for a visit. Hey, if you're lucky, you might even talk a skipper into taking you out for a day sail. Then Sunday morning we'll be setting sail for the islands. I'm sure you'll be getting sailing reports from time to time, and then a trip report when we're back. There's even a rumor that someone will be doing a blog during the cruise to keep you all up to date on our latest escapades. Stay tuned for more on that later.
