Tom, I've had one installed for a couple of seasons and it works great. The shock cord did lose some of it's zing after a while and I had to tighten it up, but it's been fine since. I was dubious myself at first, and do carry a spare bit of cord just in case, but it's held up well, and it sure beats futzing with a sail stop, and it lets me keep the sail on the boom with a cover. The buttons that cover the knots in the cord, however, don't stay on, so I just don't use them. Good luck, Rick M17 #633 Lynne L On Sunday, June 15, 2014, Thomas Buzzi <thomaspbuzzi@gmail.com> wrote:
After getting the brochure about the Mastgate product line of products I was surprised to find that the mastgate itself is held in place with just shock cord. Has anybody installed one of these and found it to withstand the various strains and pressures placed upon it such that it didn't dent or pop out of place or malfunction in any other fashion? Would like to hear about your experiences with this product. Thanks, Tom B M17, #258
