My m-17 is on its trailer and might see some sail time this season but..in the meantime I have to keep myself busy with other things like reading maintenance manuals and boat stuff here is a review on a cool book I just reviewed: I just reviewed "The New Complete Sailing Manual" by Steve Sleight published by DK press. This is a nice modern book that incorporates a little bit of everything for the inexperienced and advanced sailor. I checked it out at our local library and is now on my Christmas wish list. It is similar to the Chapmans book but has more pictures and is a dedicated sailors manual. Among the covered subjects are: Nomenclature, Sail anatomy and trim, electrical, alternative power, passagemaking, cruising, rules and just about everything else, my favorite was an extended section on berthing and different scenarios including crowded marinas and stern-to-wall parking. Its one of those books that every time you go thru it you learn something new. Gilbert landin Catalina 30 Misty Ray Montgomery 17 Sagitta
