You might try Garmin. I have a hand-held unit, model 296 moving map that I use in my airplane. I use it in my car, and used to use it sailing an M-17.This particular GPS unit has the Jepperson aviation data base programmed into its memory. However, it also has data cards that can be programmed with cities and highways that can be entered using a CD-ROM sold by Garmin. Garmin also sells a CD for marine use. There is probably a hand-held unit by Garmin that can be used for both land and marine applications that don't have the aviation data. If you search their web site you can probably find a single GPS suitable for both your boat and motor home. <http://www.garmin.com> -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+n9ca=comcast.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+n9ca=comcast.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Eeeisen@aol.com Sent: Friday, February 23, 2007 6:45 PM To: ":montgom≥䀀洀愀椀氀洀愀渀⸀砀洀椀猀猀椀漀渀⸀挀漀洀 Subject: M_Boats: GPS We are planning on doing the 2007 San Juan Cruise. We are trying to get equipment together starting now. One item that we would like some help with is the handheld GPS. We are fresh water sailors here in Texas but would like to purchase one with bouy and markers shown. After The Cruise, we will use it as we travel this country in the motorhome. Oh, and we want one that is reasonably priced. We are looking for guidance. What do you use? Offshore? Eldor and Dorothy M-17 Motu iti.
