Thanks Tod. Sounds like the stuff I got last year. Hope you like it. Nothings cheap is it? I used large stainless steel fender washers between my tiller and rudder to protect the finish. Glued them to the rudder with Marine Goop. So far, so good. Larry On (No, or invalid, date.) "htmills@bright.net" <htmills@bright.net> writes:
Larry,
It was the cheaper stuff (not that it was cheap.....is anything for a boat cheap?). It was ninety nine cents a foot at west marine.....for some reason sta-set sticks in my mind but I can't be sure.
Used the white with red flecks in it for the sheet and red with white flecks in it for the little keeper line, all whipped neatly with waxed whipping twine.
Got my jib sheet all made up like in the pics I posted. I think it'll be pretty nice.
It's pouring rain here right now, so tonight I'm going to make up metal cheek plates for the new rudder....they'll go between the tiller castings and the rudder so I don't gouge up the finish on the rudder when I flip the tiller up.
Charts for Maine are on order; got the Taft guide, downloading mussel recipies galore from the internet: www.eatmussels.com, varnishing the new hatchboards (trimmed up the oak battens so they match up better).....ah, I can hardly wait!
Gotta get back to work...
Tod
