Thanks Chris, I'm thinking the three step from the Potter site, it's $120 plus shipping as I recall. I think I need at least three steps as we will use the ladder frequently (lots of swimming) and I become less agile each year. I got the 3 step telescoping windline ladder from West Marine that was listed at $150, but then found a 2 step telescoping windline ladder at Macs Hardware for $25. The bracket construction on that one is not quite as good, but for $125 savings... I took the 3 step back. I figure all you really need to be able to do is belly up onto the stern, but then I may be more agile than some...
That'll be my first installation next spring when it warms up!

Someone had replied that they took their lifelines off because the stancheons flexed the deck and created cracks. What I'm wondering is if this would be a problemthere was a big enough backing plate? I was thinking of puttting a stancheon w/ brace about 6" forward of the coaming and another one mid way to the bow pulpit. Is that just too much of a vulnerable place?? Joe Seafrog M17

I have a M `15 and installed a stern pulpit and life lines. I like them for the following reasons:
1. My boom tent gives me more head room. 2. They stop my jib from going over the side. 3. When over nighting, I have plenty of drying space. 4. Can attach weather cloths so that I can take a solar shower. 5. The stern rail has prevented me from falling over board once.
