I agree a tight fitting rubber seal around the entire centerboard would be problematic, but the kind of "gasket" I am talking about is just a flap of dacron cloth that touches the centerboard to reduce turbulence. It doesn't make a tight seal and would be cut with an opening after the aft end of the centerboard to pass larger debris like leaves, etc. Tyler

The M15 cockpit drain empties into the centerboard trunk. A gasket might slow the drain or stop it as well as trapping any grit or debris next to the centerboard where it could cause other problems.
