Get a piece of 5/16 dac line, pull out about 4" of the core on one end in order to taper it, and tie it to the shackle with a really tight double half hitch. Reason for tapering the line is so it will have a smaller knot that won't rub on the sides of the trunk. If you're in salt water I'd replace the shackle for kicks if it shows any corrosion, but be sure it's narrow enough to fit in the trunk. If I remember correctly (don't count on it) the trunk is 7/8" wide. Wait- I think the board is 7/8" wide, so the trunk would be a bit wider, probably an inch. Measure it. This is assuming the boat is one that I made. If it's one that Eeg made I haven't a clue. ________________________________ From: Douglas Vogel via montgomery_boats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, August 25, 2023 10:08 AM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Cc: Douglas Vogel <shadowmtlighting@icloud.com> Subject: M_Boats: Re: Center board pennant Jackson, Wyoming

Good morning sailers,
Does anyone have a source for a centerboard pennant for my Montgomery 17 # 325. West Marine seems to want $145 for one….
Thanks, Doug Vogel
