I've never, EVER, heard of or read about gelcoat blistering on a Montgomery, and I relayed this to Wayne Preisman via an offlist response . . . I probably don't want to read about it if it's happened, but has anyone heard of a Monty with a blistering problem?
Yes. When I was looking for an M15, I saw one at Stockdale Marine in Sacramento, CA that was so badly blistered that I wondered if it could be repaired. There were literally hundreds of half dollar sized blisters. There was hardly a square inch of smooth hull. Too bad, as the rest of the boat was nice. I ended up finding one that had been shrink-wrapped and unused since new, so I did not shed too many tears. Scott M15 #478 'bebe'
