Hi Fred, Thanks for the mast gate site. As far as I know mast gates are made almost one set at a time because of the limited sales potential of the completed product, seeing as how every boat uses a different configuration. So the first step would be design. Then finding someone who'll make them. And, the installation could be as easy as "do-it-youself". I personally like mast gates. I used them on the Cat 22 and it made deployment of the main one slick easy motion. By design gates are best to be used on boats stored mast up. In the water or on the hard. If used on a trailer sailer the gate would have to be opened and closed twice on every outing. Me thinks that wouldn't be too good on the attachment holes in the mast... over time. If it's feasible to make and install gates on Tipperary's mast. That's what I'll end up doing as she'll be stored on the hard, mast up. With exception of the few distant outing we'll likely take. I wonder... Does anyone kow if the masts have changed over the years? Same brand? Same model Number? Bill
