Verified it is salt water. Mary inspected the hull pretty closely so likely coming into the keel somewhere. She is going to get some good light down there, empty the bilge then see if she can see where the water is entering. If unable to locate then she will pull the boat out of the water at the yard fill the bilge and see if there is water coming out of the keek somewhere. I will keep the group posted when we find the answers. Jim On Fri, Apr 1, 2022 at 9:24 AM AT&T Account <stanpfa@pacbell.net> wrote:
how much water? Did it rain? does it have cockpit drain valves? open/ closed? what ever it is, it's likely minor,Stan On Friday, April 1, 2022, 07:52:59 AM PDT, Jim Ellsworth < jellsworth603@gmail.com> wrote:
I sold my M-17 a while ago and the new owner had a barrier coat and bottom paint applied including removing the centerboard and replacing. The boat was launched and taken to her slip. She noticed water in the bilge pumped it out but it filled up the next day and she pumped it again. She can't find the source so I am reaching out here to see if anyone has experienced this. The boat is a Bob boat built in 2000. She got underneath the cockpit and can not find any water leaking inside the hull and draining into the bilge. One possibility was the tube the centerboard line goes through but She does not think that is the issue either. I owned the boat since 2008 and has been on the hard for about 6 years. During my ownership I have not experienced this and she has never been beached, knocked anything on the bottom etc. so this is quite surprising. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
