Having had some experience using several brands of hand held GPS sets in my aitplane, Garmin would be my first choice from the standpoint of being user friendly. It is readily apparent with most of the GPS user manuals, Garmin included, that the author's first language was not English! The Garmin 48 is waterproof, easy to use, and relatively inexpensive. The least user friendly GPS I have used was made by Lowrance. am considering buying a gps would like advise on best for price for coastal waters <<
depends on your needs, wants and expectations. A friend just uses an old Garmin 12XL with his charts. Sails the Bahamas for months on end. I've also sold the big screen, pricey Garmins to folks who liked the image, but used it as a status symbol. You need to be more specific...like, do you want just a GPS, or a chartplotter model?? Color or B&W?? Harvey/Ga M-17 Stargazer #294 _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
