When Bill first solicited pictures for the site I looked through my picture files for ones that I could send to him, but I didn't have any. All the pictures of my boat are of improvements that I made or of specific areas where someone on the list has asked for a particular view. Hi Rick, Originally, I posted two pages of instruction on how to submit photo's. One was high resolution shots for the "Show Boats & MSOG Boats & Owners" and page two, which has been removed, covered how to submit for the "how to" section. Regarding a depository... Up until a couple of weeks ago I was working 10 to 15 hours a day, six days a week. Now, I'm on my 5 month vacation. Those of you who have put together an album know that it took me a week or two to get the pictures up and the copy written. Now that I'm off for a while that may or may not improve as I plan on doing a bit of playing. Now, Back to the site... I agree, we need a "how To" section. Problem is, getting the PICS published so that a meaningful discussion can be had in a reasonable amount of time. Second concern is getting pictures that are detailed (900X650 pixels or greater) enough (like Randy's photos) to be able to have a good discussion. If all we are talking is to place a picture without copy... That is easily accomplished. We could call it the "How To Discussion Photo's" Pictures would come and go based upon the topics on the forum. Wouldn't take long to accomplish, easy to do and all that is needed... Is to send the photo(s) to me, and ask that I post them on the Photo Site for discussion. "If" we are talking about setting up a real "How To" section. That will be a bit difficult as it takes a bunch of time to format the site to make the copy match the pictures and the more info we get into, the harder it gets. Then comes the organization of different boats and different subjects and the various people who will be sending in the information. The first "How To" I pondered was Craig's pictures of the "How to" of installing the Bronze Ports on his M-17. It will require 8 to 10 pictures and lots of copy to make the pictures make sense. Possible... but, lenghty and time consuming. Not practicle for a spur of the moment discussion on the forum. The Funtigo Site belongs to the MSOG. However, even though I'm a participant. I'm not the only one who is allowed to assist. If there is a volunteer in the audience... please Email me. Maybe we can put together a permanent "How To" section. I agree it is needed. I can envision lots of subjects for the "How To" section. If this occurred, we could base discussions on pictures that are already archived and posted. I'll be picking up Tipperary pretty soon and bringing her to California. I've never raised the mast by myself yet. Boy, will I have questions for the group. I'd love to see the "How To" section be a part of the Photo Site. I know it would be an asset to me as well. We will be seeing another section added to the MSOG Photo Site in the next couple of weeks. This new section will be called "Montgomery Art." I know it will be a welcome addition to the site. And - Thanks for the generous praise of the Photo Site! Bill M-17 Tipperary #496
