Hello -- I have been reading through the MSOG website and lurking on the list for a few weeks since I acquired an older M-17, and really appreciate all the good info I have found. I have been learning what a gem I got through reading MSOG info and tinkering on the boat -- looking forward to sailing it! I expect I will have questions that I can't find with a search (or if it's out there, please point me the right way), and here's my first one: The boat I bought is a 1975 model, hull number 69 (I learned how to figure that out on the website). In my web surfing, I turned up a brochure about a Montgomery 17 Flush Deck and the sail number is 69, the famous Coyote. So, my boat is not Coyote, not a flush deck -- how can it have the same number? The long-ago-detached number on the main was 69, too. The boat will be 32 years old this June, and it's in great shape. There are some critical needs in the standing rigging, obvious cleaning and commissioning tasks, and getting the trailer roadworthy is on the priority list. The boat is in the water and I want to get it out to inspect the centerboard (and I expect renovation is needed). And there are those rigging modifications I want to ask about... Thanks in advance for info and advice, Nick Chappell --------------------------------- Don't get soaked. Take a quick peak at the forecast with theYahoo! Search weather shortcut.
