I haven't had particularly good luck with hardware store stainless fasteners because of severe galling...to the point that they are useable one time only. When installing my boarding ladder I bolted it up dry first just to check the fit up. When I tried to back the nuts off I literally BROKE some brand new bolts because of galling. If I ever want to remove the new wooden motor mount clamp block on Busca I shall have to break the bolts, no doubt. Have not had that problem with the stainless bolts purchased at a marine chandlery. They seem to be made of a different type of stainless. Tod
