RE: M_Boats: Boats: milk crates

Rick, On M17 Busca, the existing milk crate, http://www.todspages.net/images/LF-milkcrate.jpg , holds the 11# Bruce with 17' of 5/16 chain and 200' of 3/8" nylon rode very nicely. It lives next to the centerboard well under the cockpit, stbd side. I keep it there because it is a bit further fwd than the cockpit lockers and I try to keep weight out of the stern as much as possible. It is also very handy so long as the companionway is open. If planning on anchoring, I'll get it out and place it on the cockpit sole. With that much rode aboard, often only a small part of it is in use. The balance stays in the crate, stashed at a far corner of the cockpit. Tod M17 #408 BuscaBrisas
