M_Boats: kick up rudder for M dink and M-17

I have been considering modifying my rudders to allow beaching and kick up (rather than pop off or tear off) for my M-10 and M-17. I had issues last fall with my M-17 rudder hitting bottom and popping out of the grundgeons and leaving the boat, well, rudderless. I am rebuilding my M-10 rudder so modifying it would be first on my list. Can anyone point to some information on modifying the rudders? Thanks in advance Robbin
