Tim. Schaefer snapfurl CF500. Excellent unit for the M17. Have a new genoa made! Recuttioa hank-on sail dosen't work well - makes for poor sail shape and even worse when reefed. I recommend you talk with Harry at E/P Sailmakers. Hi.
I am thinking about installing a jib furl on my Montgomery 17. I had a local rigger look at the boat this morning and he says the boat is too heavy for the "Harken Small Boat" and he is unsure which furl is best suited for this boat. He is going to do some research but I thought I would put it out to you all as well. The head sail is a genoa 150% Also, is it reasonable to expect the furl to be able to reef?
Thanks,
