Peter: For a sail larger than the standard working sail, 128%, genoa tracks need to be attached to the toerails so the sheet runs outside the shrouds. You also need to install a cleats on the cockpit combings. IMO unless you are finding you are sailing in very light wind conditions, like less than 2-3knots, on a regular basis the cost of the sail and required hardware really isn't worth it. If you would like details on specific hardware let me know. The most challenging step is installing the genoa track as this involves drilling through the toerail and hull deck joint while adjusting the track so its bolt pattern doesn't conflict with the toerail's. The installation of the track can be done by a single person but there are a few tricks to doing this as the track must follow the bend of the boat. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - www.freewebs.com/m15-named-scred/ On Sat, Jul 11, 2020, 6:35 AM Peter Zimowsky via montgomery_boats < montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:
Hi: Has anyone rigged a genoa for a M15? What does it take? My boat doesn’t have the extra hardware for a jig? Pete WinterSky (Zimowsky)
