hello Steve, I'm not familiar with Lake Michigan but I do recall a story of a gent attempting as crossing on a P14. It's a good story and some lessons for us small boat sailboats. http://potter-yachters.org/stories/index.html take care, Randy Watkins M15#194 & Classic Dingy 10.
stevemc35@attbi.com 01/11/02 08:55AM >>> While I'm wiling away the weeks waiting for spring, fantasizing about taking my old M15 out for the first time (for me), I'm looking over all my Lake Michigan charts, studying every little harbor and inlet and island that might make an interesting destination.
My own experience 'till now has been limited to sailing a 14' open boat within a few miles of Chicago's north shore. Just wondering, anybody out there ever make a crossing of Lake Michigan in an M15? If so, I'd like to hear all about it, how long did it take, etc. Or any other Lake Michigan sailing stories would be welcome-- or for that matter, any Great Lakes M-15 sailing at all. I'd love to hear about it. By this time next year, I'm sure hoping to have one or two of my own to share! Stay warm... -- Steve McClellan M15 #152 _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
