I ordered a board from Bob Eeg which wouldn't fit into my slot. Before sending it to Doug Kelch, I took it to a machinist friend who traced it and made some notes. He made the board out of 3/4" cold roll plate steel. After it was primed and painted I think it weighed around 63 pounds. The project cost about $120. I was never able to sail with the original board so I can't compare the performance. Maybe ingnorance is bliss, but the boat seems to sail well with the new board. Dale, Could you provide the specifics on your board swap out. Did you use your original for a pattern and have a fabrication shop work one up? material uses: est . cost? Weight: how does it compare to the original sailing wise ? I don't have board problems but it would be good reference for others.
