Is no one going to post trip reports of these fine sailing adventures? -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+htmills=bright.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+htmills=bright.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Saltm17@aol.com Sent: Tuesday, June 14, 2005 6:10 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: How fast have you gone? In mid May of this year, I was sailing in the Florida Keys from Big Pine Key to Key West (30 nm). The winds were out of the east, 15 to 20Ks and gusting above that. It was a downwind sail and while surfing a wave, my GPS registered 8.2 Knots. Current was negligable. The M17 is a very fast boat. On a beam reach in winds of 15K +/- my GPS has often registered 7 + knots with sustained runs at 6 + knots.
