Hello fellow Monty list server members. Just to clarify Doug King's message, he will be shutting down the *MSOG website* http://msog.org/ which Doug built and faithfully supported for the past 20 years. This list server service that we communicate on via these emails *will continue in service *as it is separately sponsored by myself (originally created & sponsored by Keith Diehl) with active admin support from Dave Scobie. Our community is also blessed with the photo site http://www.msogphotosite.com created by Gerald Wyatt, as well as the Montgomery Sailboat Facebook group administered by Dave Scobie, Wayne Martin and Randy Graves. I am pretty sure there is a misunderstanding here - the msog.org website is not the same as this email list.
I believe Doug is only shutting down the website - Doug, can you clarify?
thanks, John

First of all, thanks Doug for administering such a helpful resource for so long! I imagine you had many head-scratching moments with which to contend.
I have no experience hosting listservs but do have some background in technology, mostly in the previous century. I am retired and willing to help find a hosting solution for MSOG. The folks at Gaggle (not Google) may be of help. Their “Personal” plan appears to be robust enough for our purposes, as it allows searchable archives with no time limit, at 10 cents/user/month, a nominal amount I think most folks would be willing to contribute to keep this boat afloat. They can also convert archives from other sites to their platform. I do not know the cost of that conversion but would be willing to contact Gaggle re: that.
I would probably need to know details about the current MSOG platform (file type, number and size of files, number of users, etc.) to run an inquiry by Gaggle. For those intrepid souls who want more info, see https://gaggle.email/
