Theo, where did you find the winch? I’d like one for Parrot Head. On Wed, Aug 10, 2022 at 14:09 Theo Petron <lapstrake1979@gmail.com> wrote:

Originally it has a standard winch in the stbd lazerette on a stainless wire that went forward, jogged to port and then forward again before curving down to the board. I never liked having to go into that locker while underway and it also took up a lot of space. I finally found a winch similar to the one Bones had on Dhana and set it up like his (right photo) I love it! I use dynema and with the two inspection ports I can monitor the condition of the line often. Hope this helps. Cheers! Theo M23 Sails Increase Chesapeake Bay

Hi Jerry, Thanx much. sal In a message dated 7/14/2022 4:45:40 PM Mountain Standard Time, jmbn1@outlook.com writes: Hi Sal- i've talked to Ron about this boat but really can't help him because he doesn't know anything about the board; whether it's glass, iron, or what. All he knows is that it's stuck in the trunk and won't move. I know that Eeg didn't use a regular cast iron 23 board because the pattern went bye-bye when Globe Iron Foundry went out of business in the early 80's. He may have used an M-15 board which would be totally inadequate. Many years ago, before Eeg started to make the boat, I made a foundry pattern for him for a bronze board but I can't see Egg putting that kind of money in the boat. Apparently there is no mechanism for lifting the CB, but I'm sure Ron is smart enough to come up with something. I really can't help because so far he can't give me any information. He just recently called me and left a message but so far I can't get back to him. I'll keep trying, and also talk to Stan to see if he might have some helpful info. I know that Stan went by and looked at the boat a while back and he's smarter than he looks. Hi all, sal here. I don't post a lot, but I read a lot. Gail and I are finally finishing up our M23. (Green hull) It's been a long road but we're making progress. Ron Moore is finishing the boat for us. He built our Moore 24 (1984) which we are still sailing. He is a world class boat builder. There was a lot of work to be done. We have no images on how the centerboard winch was set up and any assistance that we can get would be appreciated. We're planning to bring the boat back to Colorado in early August. It's been a long time and we are looking forward to sailing her. Thanx in advance. salngail glesser Ex M15 owner ('86 "Justus")Sage 17 "Air Born"Sage 15 M23
