Hi Doug I don't think so. The M_15 deck is cored with 1/4 inch balsa. AND on the mast area from port to starboard there is an EXTRA lamination of balsa and glass. This forms a bridge, with the natural curve of the cabin top. This extra lam/core area can be seen by looking below; you will see a thicker area in the forward part of the cabin that forms this curved bridge. Yes it is cored with balsa but under the mast plate there is a metal brace that spans the cabin. It is about 1" wider than the mast plate.
