Because of the great race in Guaymas/San Carlos in Oct, I'm in favor of going then, either the race and/or the cruise. Maybe I'll plan on it and anyone else who wants to go will be more than welcome. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tyler Backman" <casioqv@usermail.com> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 04, 2014 7:00 AM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Mexico? Doug, I've done a lot of camping along the eastern coast of Baja, and in my opinion October and March are the two best months. Both times practically guarantee comfortable upper 70s/lower 80s and sunny weather. Tyler '81 M15 #157 "Defiant" On Feb 2, 2014, at 7:31 PM, Douglas Kelch wrote:
Jerry,
I would love to do that trip but I can't tolerate the heat in June. How about April? Even then I might have a problem getting away from family obligations but.....

If anybody in interested, I'm thinking about taking my Sage down to Mexico in June to float around for a week or so and would be happy to have some company. I'd go to the midriff area, probably launching either at Bahia De Los Angeles on the Baja Side and island hopping across, or the other way around, launching at Kino Bay.
I've done this area several times but not for about 20 or 25 years and really enjoyed it and it's time I did it again before I get too old. No marinas, no gas stops, no nothing, but I always caught enough fish to feed an army.
Usually light air but nobody but an idiot would go w/o a storm jib, need good ground tackle, lots of gas, water and sunscreen.
A group of 6 or 8 would be perfect.
