Thanks. I really wasn't fishing for compliments, but I'll take them. Keith Diehl Cottonwood Heights, UT On 3/22/2013 3:26 PM, SALGLESSER@aol.com wrote:

Thanks for setting up this list, Keith! I appreciate your choice of a provider not interested in capitalizing on our information.
I do, indeed, trust the wisdom of the group.

Just for clarification, although there is no doubt that msog is a fine thing, this list is independent of it and predates it by many years. I started the mailing list, gosh, thinking about how long ago it was frighted me!
Yes, the mailing list format is old and foreign to some, but it's fast, lightweight, and nimble. I much prefer it to using a web forum on my cell phone. (remember that all list mail has a subject starting with M_Boats:, so you can create a rule in your mail program to dump it into its oun folder and read it at your pleasure)
Further, xmission, who hosts the mailman system, lays no claims to you or your information. Read those forum terms and conditions some time
At any rate, it is what it is and has been for more than a decade now. If a new generation of sailers prefers a different format, they are certainly free to follow their desires with no hard feelings from me.

there are four prominent Mboat www-things -
for current communication the #1, IMO, is this listproc (part of www.msog.org)
the #2 is the trailersailor.com Montgomery sub-forum
for older 'historic' pictures and 'how to' things about the boats the #1 is www.msog.org.
#2 is www.msogphotosite.com

I just realized that this group is not a yahoo group. I do not mind the yahoo group setup because I can still choose to have individual (or grouped) e-mails delivered to my inbox. That would be fine with me, as it does the same thing that this group does. And you can set them so you can attach photos if you want to...or set it so photos cannot be attached to the e-mail itself, but can be downloaded to a file folder on the internet.
You can also read the e-mails solely online.

there is a google group for montgomery owners. Sean Mulligan created it back in 2008. the group is, to my understanding, 'activated' only to have an owners directory and some mboat related www-links.
