Harvey, Thanks for the dose of reality in the group, regarding the "digital camera" issue. I was starting to think this was a photography group. I have the exact same camera... and use the exact same rechargable batteries. 1.3 megapixels is way over most people's heads, especially when you're talking about "taking a few pics" or taking them for web use (ie. max of 640 X 480 @ 72 dpi). Cameras in this range run about $150- $200 brand new. They take wonderful photos at 1024 X 768 and my 8 X 10 enlargements do look great. If you want to be a pro photographer, better sell the boat... you're gonna need the money to buy gear. At 11:26 PM -0400 5/29/02, Harvey Wilson wrote:
Hi Joe...
I use an old (3 years??) Olympus D-320R digital camera. It's only got 1.3 megapixels, but it does most (90%) of what I want out of a camera.
Built-in flash, 3 different resolutions, starting at the most common 640x480. 8mb memory card that gives 102 (or is it 112??) pix at 640 rez.
It's macro mode gets down to about 3 inches, and it'll also take sequence pix.
Comes with a cord to connect to your PC, and another so you can display the pix on your TV.
Uses 4 AA batteries...I use 4 NmH batteries from Radioshack.
Idano what the latest model of this is. And I doubt that you'll need more then 1.3 Mpixels unless you're a photo bug as well and want to make great looking 8x10 enlargements from your color inkjet printer.
