Hi All, Here's an update on Hull #496 M~17. After struggling to like the M~17, I personally found that at this time, that size boat is just to much for me to deal with. As many of you know, I was very close to ordering a new M~15 when the opportunity to purchase #496 came. I love this group! I mentioned to Randy Graves that I may sell My M~17 and he told just one who told just one. And then, I got an Email from Tom Smith who flatly stated "I'll buy her!" so, I sold her without the expense of an advertisement or the anxiety of waiting to see who the next owner would be. Last weekend, I drove from Grants Pass, OR to Hood River, OR while Tom & Jane VanWinkle drove from Fairfield, WA to Hood River. The meeting place was right at 310 mile for both of us. I loved the pre-sale inspection. Tom was a bit supprised (as I had been) to see Kern Sails that look as new, a finish as nice as new, and a great list of accessories. Thanks to Randy, Larry Yake and finally to Tom & Jane. Yes, I was reluctant to sell the M~17, but I know she's in good hands. What's next for me... I'll be crewing an M-15 owned by David Wood. I used to want one and now, I'm going to do all I can to make certain before I order. I'm thinking a very salty looking M-15 with lots of modifications. I think I'll just call her... "Salty" I'm changing the information on the Tipperary album pretty soon. Tom hasn't officially change the name yet, but will likely have the party and ceremony to do so with the NW regulars. I'm hoping Randy Graves is there to take some pictures so I can put them in the album. I'm keeping the Photo Site open and will be "begging" for more material as time goes by, so keep the cameras ready to take pictures and remember... Most sailors have lots of pictures of their boat, but most dont have any pictures of them sailing. Bill www.msog.funtigo.com
