By going to the web site, Keith is talking about the
listserver web site, not the MSOG web site. There is no connection
between information entered into the MSOG Owners Registry and this
listserver subscription list, they are two separate registrations.
Tom, you are subscribed twice to this listserver under your current
address and the linesoft one, so I guess you need to delete one (I
updated your MSOG registry entry anyway, though it doesn't affect
this):
If your email address changes, you probably want to unsubscribe the old
address and re-subscribe with the new one.
To check if you are registered more than once to the listserver (this
list), go to
http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats,
about halfway down the page to "montgomery_boats Subscribers".
Enter your email address and password you used when you first
subscribed (good luck remembering it), click on "Visit Subscriber
List" and the list of subscribers will come up. If you have more
than one email address listed, you can unsubscribe one of them. You
can either 1) click on your email address in the subscriber list that
comes up there or 2)send a regular email to the listserver subscription
server
mailto:montgomery_boats-request@mailman.xmission.com?subject=unsubscribe
(this address is listed at the top of every
message from the list in all those blue links).
With some of these listservers, for validation reasons, the email must
come from the actual original address you subscribed under and are
therefore trying to delete. You can usually do that by temporarily
changing the "Return Address" ("From:") or whatever
it's called in your email client (Outlook, Eudora, etc.) to the address
you want to delete. Don't forget to change it back afterwards.
Confusing? You bet. But it should work. If not, maybe Keith can do it
manually if one asks real nice.
That's about all I know. Oh yeah--that, AND I hate computers.
